It’s one of the oldest crafts known to civilization — seashells, tusks, antlers, feathers, animal skin and bones were carved elaborately to serve as ornamentation. Today, jewelry takes on a plethora of forms, utilizing an endless array of materials and taking inspiration from just about anything.

I’ve been fascinated not only by precious stones but also the rare geological finds. They are like candies, only expensive. My first-ever collection of jewelry or “Rocks” reflected my love for symmetry and extraordinary cuts. I have my stones cut in unusual yet very architectural shapes. I’m very particular about that because I think these shapes give me funk and character. There’s a lot of bright colors.

My jewelry pieces are for truly modern women — independent, goal-oriented and confident. Gone are the days when a girl wants a man to buy her a ring. There is a feel to my piece that says, “I like this new piece and I will buy it for myself.” Of my newer pieces, the power rings stands out as it utilizes eight round brilliant quality diamonds — among them are the rare and most-coveted black diamond that totals to 20 karats.

I’d like to believe that there is nothing pretentious and boisterous about my jewelry, especially my collection of ’50′s-inspired glass crystal necklaces. They can be worn in layers, single-stranded or looped in various lengths. My pieces are created so that you can mix and match them. Once in 3 months, my precious stones undergo cleaning in order for me to preserve their luster.

My jewelry collection is affordable without sacrificing aesthetic sensibility. More than anything else, I like my jewelry to look harmonious. I don’t want them to overpower the individual. Instead, they are designed to enhance. My approach to picking out jewelry concentrates on what would best flatter me.
