Luxury goods brand Louis Vuitton introduces a watch for the modern jetsetter

louis-vuitton-watch.jpgWhen it comes to luxury, Louis Vuitton probably wrote the book. With a history that goes back 150 years, Louis Vuitton has always followed those who have leapt through space, accompanying them on journeys, voyages, and expeditions. Ever since Louis Vuitton opened his first store in 1854 in Paris, he and his son Georges have been attracting luxury travelers from around the world. Royalty, movie stars and other celebrities have proudly worn or carried the LV initials for over a century.

Today, its products — whethey they be Louis Vuitton luggage, Louis Vuitton bags, Louis Vuitton shoes, Louis Vuitton clothes, and now Louis Vuitton jewelry and watches — have always been objects of desire. The luxury brand synonymous with highly-coveted bags recently launched its latest watch, the Speedy.

After the launch of the Tambour in 2002, Louis Vuitton’s first watch became wildly popular with the fashionista set. The Speedy range boasts of a more mannish, stylish square bezel. At a recent press review in Hong Kong, the Speedy range departed from the Tambour’s signature round, drum shape — the new DuoJet, Automatic Chronograph and Lady Quartz watches all sported an ice-blue face, reminiscent of a retro TV screen, wit dials unveiling the grain of the popular Damier patter bags.

The exceptional feature of the DuoJet, which has been exclusively developed by Louis Vuitton, is the synchronization of two dials, thus enabling a busy traveler to adapt to different time zones, which can vary by a quarter of an hour. Whether you’re leaving for Kathmandu or Chatham Island in the Pacific, the DuoJet will give precise, accurate time.

“Travel is apart of everyday life now, hence our diversification into other products that will accompany people on their travels,” says Albert Bensoussan, Watch Department director at Louis Vuitton Malletier in Paris. “Our job is to understand people’s needs and provide the right companion for business and leisure trave.”

Given Louis Vuitton’s eye for detail, the DuoJet is said to be the first watch to give the wearer the option of setting the time for the second zone at a quarter hour segment, with a simple turn of the dial. Even the back of the case is engraved with the Damier bag pattern, a sure stamp of the watch’s authenticity.

Next to the DuoJet, the Speedy Automatic Chronograph and Lady Quartz Watch both have modern lines inspired by speed dials of car dashboards, with a waterproof of sapphire glass, stainless case and bracelets available in stainless steel or in colorful alligator straps.

The Louis Vuitton range of Speedy watches is exclusively available at Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide and the Louis Vuitton Watch and Jewelry Store.
